Science-Led Human Performance Research

European BioLab is an independent life sciences organisation advancing evidence-based research in human performance, sports science, and applied wellness biology. We translate peer-reviewed science into accessible frameworks for health professionals and researchers.

Research Areas

What We Study

Our work spans the applied science of human performance and wellness biology. Each area is grounded in current peer-reviewed literature.

Area 01

Sports Nutrition & Body Composition

The role of macronutrient timing, protein quality, and micronutrient sufficiency in supporting lean mass retention, fat metabolism, and athletic performance. We review current evidence on dietary strategies for body composition optimisation.

Area 02

Recovery Science & Adaptation

Sleep architecture, HRV monitoring, active recovery protocols, and the physiological mechanisms underpinning training adaptation. We synthesise emerging research on how recovery quality drives long-term performance outcomes.

Area 03

Metabolic Health & Insulin Sensitivity

Resistance training, aerobic conditioning, and nutritional interventions as tools for improving glucose regulation, metabolic flexibility, and cardiovascular risk markers in both clinical and general population contexts.

Area 04

Cognitive Performance & Stress Biology

The bidirectional relationship between psychological stress, cortisol regulation, and cognitive function. We review evidence-based interventions including mindfulness, cold exposure, and nutritional support for cognitive resilience.

Area 05

Applied Supplementation Science

A systematic review of the clinical evidence base for commonly used wellness and performance supplements, evaluating dosing rationale, bioavailability, and outcome data from peer-reviewed human trials.

Area 06

Hormonal Health & Endocrine Function

The influence of lifestyle factors including training load, sleep quality, and nutrition on testosterone, oestrogen, thyroid, and cortisol regulation. We examine evidence-based approaches to supporting endocrine health.

About the Lab

An Independent Research Organisation

Founded

European BioLab was founded to address a consistent gap in the health and wellness landscape: the distance between what peer-reviewed science says and what practitioners and the public have access to.

Our approach is methodologically rigorous. Every position we take is grounded in published, peer-reviewed research. We are explicit about the difference between preclinical findings, observational data, and randomised controlled trial evidence, and we update our frameworks as new literature emerges.

We work with health professionals, coaches, and researchers who share a commitment to evidence-based practice. Enquiries regarding research access, collaboration, or our literature review services are welcome via the contact form below.

What We Offer

Research Services

We provide research and knowledge services to health professionals, wellness brands, and organisations seeking evidence-based content and analysis.

Literature Review

Systematic Literature Reviews

Comprehensive, structured reviews of peer-reviewed literature across our focus areas. Suitable for health brands, clinicians, coaches, and researchers requiring a rigorous evidence synthesis on a specific topic within human performance or wellness biology.

Content

Evidence-Based Content Development

We produce scientifically accurate long-form content, white papers, and educational resources for health and wellness organisations. All content is referenced to primary literature and written to a standard appropriate for professional audiences.

Consultation

Research Consultation

Advisory support for organisations seeking to align their product positioning, claims, or educational materials with the current scientific evidence base. We help translate complex research into clear, defensible communication.

Access

Research Framework Access

Access to our internal literature frameworks and evidence summaries across our six research areas. Designed for health professionals and researchers who want a structured, continuously updated reference resource.
